The Brief:
One of Mizuho’s Managing Directors first met us through a leadership programme which we supported. At the time he was considering coaching to further develop his leadership skills but was unsure where to start and what he wanted out of it. The Leadership Programme involved using the Lumina Spark psychometric to give insight into the MD’s skills, strengths and areas for development and a result he decided he wanted to take part in coaching with Inspire.
The Programme:
The programme involved completing a Lumina Spark Portrait followed by a set of 1-1 executive coaching sessions and self-driven activity taking place between sessions.
The first two 1-to-1 sessions supported the Director to define their strengths and challenges and the agreed coaching goals, and identified additional areas to focus on. This led to clarity around the mindset and behaviours that may be blocking success, and the areas of skill-development requiring further focus.
Subsequent sessions blended traditional 1-1 coaching with team coaching, where collective gaps and goals were identified and skill development supported. Integral to success was what we call ‘Making Learning Stick’ – the activity between sessions driven by the coachee.
The Results:
The Coaching Programme quickly highlighted key areas to focus on and agreed objectives and goals. Progress was rapid and resulted in the Managing Director becoming a better and more confident leader as a result.
